Installing trunk seal 120-130

Hey all,

Finally getting around to replacing the leaky seal on the trunk of my '66 122 4 door... Any thoughts on where to apply the adhesive? (I don't have much faith in using the old one as a guide due to how poorly it was installed.)

I assume the lip that runs around the trunk (maybe a half inch wide) that fits in the slot in the seal gets covered on both sides, but what about the flat part that sits under the seal / the seal sits on?

Thanks!
-aric.

There are many opnions on this. I guess, originally, the seals were only adhered along the bottom and the rest of it sat in the channel. Presumably, this was for easy cleaning of dirt, leaves, debris. Many people seem to feel better about sealing the whole thing all the way around. My seal is only adhered at the bottom but I'm getting a little leak from somewhere so I'm going to seal it at the top too.
