Anyone ever done a conversion from the ACC system to the standard heater/air conditioning controls?

Any ideas about where to dig up documentation that would be relevant?

Mine's acting very poorly, and if this is possible I'd like to make the switch and just swallow the work.

I've seen this done on a friend's 760, I believe he simply swapped the entire heater box + controls. This will, of course, involve evacuating then recharging the A/C, if it's still working. A donor car will make the job feasible, since you may encounter clips & trim that'll break during the job.
