I disconnect the exhaust collar and the bell housing exhaust clamp and then loosen the two bolts that support the lower turbo exhaust manifold assembly. It is tight and a pain. When you reassemble you must first seat the oil pipe return pipe with its proper red rubber o ring band before you tighten the manifold bolts. The support bracket bolts must also be screwed in ( sometimes they need spacers- they can be a pain- 1/4" drive w/ extensions help. This is the biggest annoyance about the head job.

This is the down and dirty method:

Blow off the head pipe to bell housing clamp
Shoot loose the two screws in the base of the turbo for the oil return
Shoot off the 13mm nut on the stud on the bottom of the turbo
Undo the oil supply at the turbo and the bracket for it on the turbo housing
You might have to undo the supply at the block as well
Pull all of the manifold nuts and heat sheilds out of the way
Now stuff a big ass screewdriver in between the turbo and the exhaust manifold and this will give you the leverage you will need to pry the manifold and turbo away from the head. When you get it levered far enough back the whole thing will pop up just a little bit. You should be able to snake the head out at this point.
