failed emissions test.Excess hydrocarbons and CO.Anyone know what the possible causes are and what the solutions might be? thank you.

    Could be any number of reasons, but preliminary guessing says it's running rich. Post all the numbers, and we can better nail down the problem.

      Kane pretty much called it as it is. As a rule if you are running rich the peak combustion chamber temps will be lower and prevent the formation of Nox but you will still fail for an overly rich mixture which is what you have. Take Kane's advice and post us some numbers off of your VIR (vehicle inspection report)both high and low speed tests and ALL of the numbers. You should have 5 gases on that VIR HC, CO, CO2, Nox, AND O2 post them all and we can give you an idea where to look. What state are you in and is this a loaded mode test, did they put your car on a dyno or not?
