960 6304 intake manifold removal

I am in the process of removing the head from our 92 960 6304F engine, for overhaul, and am unable to pull the intake manifold aaway.
I have followed the Volvo service book to the letter, and am at the stage where I have removed the clamps holding the rubber intake hoses between head and manifold. According to the writings of Uncle Olof, the manifold should now pull away. It won't. Its tighter than tight. Won't even jiggle a bit. Like its bolted rigidly in place. I have tried a bit of prying with an oak stave, but don't want to get too carried away in case I have missed something, and wind up busting it.
Anyone ever have this problem? What am I missing?

Have you loosened the one bolt at the bottom of the manifold ball?

Does your engine have EGR? If so, have you disconnected the line from the rear of the intake maifold ball?

Thanks. I found that dadgummed bolt at the bottom. What a bearcat to get at!!Anyway, its out now, and I was able to pull back the manifold. Thanks for the help.
When I was under there, in the vicinity of the motor mounts, I noticed the wire cables around the mounts are broken. Does this mean changing the mounts?

I would replace the mounts, yes.

Not difficult to do. The hardest of the two is the driver's side, and with the intake manifold off it should be a snap.
