I can't think of anyone mentioning a bad temp sensor on the radiator before. It does require quite a bit of heat for it to kick in. The only time mine does is when it's very hot outside, the AC is on, and idling in traffic.

If you don't think its working properly. Most Volvos, it takes alot to kick on the fan..

    hi.
    well..
if you are asking how to change that sensor in the rubber seal in the radiator....top right side of the radiator...
you pry it out of it's rubber seal.

a very, very HOKEY thing....dubmest thing on the whole car almost.
    the rubber seal fails eventually,
    gets pinched esaly.

i recently bought a great looking after market radiator, new. It
had a plastic plus in that location.
I pry that out, I can't get my sensor in....or when I do I pinch the rubber seal.
so I put in a guneuine volvo new rubber seal...same thing ...it leaks.
went thru that about 4 times.

finally went to a NAPA part store , bought an expandable 1/2 inch plug...put that in. AT least it doesn't leak now.
sensor now hangs by it's wires secure by a wire tie.

    scott
