Here's another scenario of how rainwater accumulates on drivers floor...... 200 1989

We park the car with the front slightly downhill, i.e., the back part of the car is higher than the front. We've also noticed that the trunk is wet...wondering if the seals on the trunk are leaking .....is there a way or passage that the water could drain towards the front of the car during rainstorms? ??

The driver's floor has been full of water the past two rainstorms..yesterday I took out seat and used flashlight while assistant drenched the windshield and cowl vents...no leak. My only other lead is the floor drain plugs which were recently removed and reinstalled when I vacuumed the cowl vent system.

Is there a way for water to drain from the trunk towards the front without getting the back floors wet??? Seems highly unlikely.

Park my 93 245 on a hill front down found the passenger side front and rear floating. Dryed it out, parked it the same, left the pads out and the carpet up through 2 huge storms, bone dry. ???

doing autoglass for a living I have seen many leaks from many areas,I have to say that if its coming from the trunk,I would think that you would detect it in the rear floors, also.Try the wiper motor

The wiper motor is a possible culprit. It has to seal on the inside where it projects through under the dashboard, because the double-thickness section under the front scuttle is a drain channel from the grill. Likewise the other wiper spindle.

Water can run front/back underneath the carpets, because there are air and cable ducts lifting the carpet off the actual floor. But I don't think they could channel water all the way from the back without wetting the rear carpets.
But check under the rear wheel arches where the shock absorber bolts on at the top, and look at the top of the chassis box section there on the inside under the seat. This is a corrosion point, and water spray from the wheel can get in there.

But I think somewhere at the front is more likely.

Do you have a sunroof? If so the drains in the pillars may be stopped up.
