How do you removal/install the Vehicle Speed Sensor on the differential ??? please help 700

Does anyone what tools are needed? Do i need any special star screww drivers or anything? My sensor has two wire connections that are frayed, and i found a third wire at the top of the sensor, however i only detected 2 wires inside the rubber insulation? The wires are exposed a dirty. Can I clean up these connections and re-insulate? Also is it normal when both rear wheels are off of the ground, for the rear wheels to spins when the car is engaged in the parked position via the tranny. I drastically need this problem resolved, because i need to keep my mileage calculating (over 390,000 original miles).
1989 740 GLE Station Wagon AW-70 A.T. 230 8 VALVE. the sensor is sort of long and rectangular in shape, and is faced upwards (wiring connected via clip onto sensor.
Thanks In Advance,

Best Regards!

You don't need to remove the speed sensor, you only need to unplug the wiring connector to repair the wires. The wire connector is kept in place by a pair of bare twisted wires with a lead seal on them. Cut the wires, and carefully work the connector of the speed sensor.
