External temperature LED query 900

Still sorting out issues with my 95 960 with 115,000 km on it. Can someone tell me if the external temp LCD situated in lower left of instrument panel should be lighted when headlights come on, or does it light when ice conditions emerge. If it should be lighted where do you replace a globe for it?

Thanks for the replies. I will go back to it again and see if I can get my hand up inside the instument cluster to change it, now I know for certain there is something there.

Are you talking about the backlight for the temp display? Mine is on all the time, but I run with daytime running lights. If it is the little led light, that comes on for icing conditions, I think at about 35-36F degrees.
