Interchangable starters 444-544

What later model starters are interchangable with '65 PV 544 starters? Seems that later model starters are available on ebay but not ones for the PV (at least now). Since I need the starter now, an interchangable unit would be nice.
Thanks for the info from previous questions.
Chris

    B30 also.
They are easy to fix once you get them apart, and parts are available.

    Interchangable starters 444-544 1953

I once had a starter fail on a 1971 145-S. I had a spare starter from a B18 122 ('65 or possibly '67) and it was 100% compatible and ended up staying with the 145 until it's demise. So, I guess the opposite is true (B20 to B18). Good luck.

The starter on my 82 245 turbo (b21ft) died once. All I had laying around was a starter off a '68 B18 144. It bolted right up. I believe that the starters gained an extra terminal in the later years, or maybe the other way round but I think if you had both laying in front of you you could take the terminal off the dead one if need be.

Hopefully someone else can confirm this but my experience is that all red block (B18-20/ 21-23) starters are physically interchangeable.
