Rear Washer (745 Wagon) 700 1987

Is the rear washer fed by the same washer pump/tank as the windshield washer OR is there a separate pump and/or tank located elsewhere? No noise when I press the button at the end of the wiper lever on the right side of steering column?

Separate pump, which may not operate if there is a blockage. Likely places for a blockage are in the antidrainback valve next to the right rear taillight assembly and the rear nozzle. See the 700/900 FAQ.

The nozzle is clear, I'll have to check on the antidrainback valve (behind right rear tail-light assm). Where is the pump for the rear washer--is it up front along with a different pump for the windshield washer? They both use the same reservoir?

Thanks very much for the responces.

On my 90, there are two seperate pumps, but both are mounted on the reservoir itself. My rear doesn't work either, I need to figure it out one of these days.

Same unit on a 245, don't know about the 745.
Check that the motor pumps in the engine bay, and trace the line through to
the back. Mine was blocked at the nozzle ($20 for a new one at the dealer).
