1800E or ES seatbelts in 122 120-130

Posted a week or so ago about this and had replies about other sources, but really want to know if there is a problem with:
fitting the takeup reel in the 122 or
if the belt length is sufficient
other issues which would mean I should not attempt this
thanks

I thought this site was pretty interesting (has a discussion of retractable seat belts):

The picture of the 122 in pieces is pretty cool, too! (and try and copy it!)

I'd be interested too. I had thought about 1800 ES belts for my Duett, but never did anything about it. Quite a number of years ago I got a set of belts out of a Dodge Colt or somesuch car and have been using them ever since. The problem lies in that the retractor reel bolts to the outside of the B pillar and fouls the folding of the rear seat--or the folded seat impedes action of the belt. I had considered welding in a mounting system that fit between the side panel and the outside of the car as the 1800ES has, and using the Volvo cover etc. It has not gone beyond my 'thinking stage' at this point.
