My 82' 245's A/C was not blowing cold so I took it to the shop. They filled it, or charged it, whatever they do, and it still doesn't really blow that cold. After the A/C has been running for a bit-some kinda water-like substance drips on the passenger side under the dash. Is any of this normal?

Others here are air-conditioner people, and if you search the archives you will find lots of air-conditioner info from them that may help you.

That being said, the water like drip inside the car is likely to be water that condenses on the AC coil inside the car. The fact that it drips inside the car indicates the condensate drain is probably plugged. Look for a rubber hose that runs down from the area of the heater and through the firewall. Sometimes running a wire up the hose from the outside can remove the plug.

As an 85 I am a little surprised you could find a shop that would/could charge your air conditioning system for anything like reasonable dollars. Unless the system was changed over to R134 (refrigerant) at some point in the past it would still be an R12 (refrigerant) system. R12 is now illegal in the US, in new air conditioning system, and very expensive, if it can be found at all, to put in old systems. It might be worth asking them what they put in it, or look at your invoice and see what they actually did.
