B20 Pistons 140-160

I purchased a B20B engine for my 122S and I'm trying to identify the pistons. They are marked RA 2603 020 TOP 0015 VI on the top of the pistons. I think these are std. bore but are they Mahle pistons?

If anyone knows about these pistons and what the markings mean I would really appreciated it.

Thank you in advance, Richard.

They are ACL's, made in Australia. They aren't Mahle originals, but Mahle bought ACL if that makes you sleep better at night. :)

RA 2603 is the part number, 020 is .020" oversize, 0015 is .0015" clearence & TOP means to measure them at the top of the skirt just below the oil ring. Have you got it apart or have you just got the head off?

Thank you, I was hoping somone would know what the markings meant. I remember the Mahle pistons on the B18 being marked differently.

So far I have just pulled the head off for a valve job. The bore looks very good but I was thinking of replacing the rings and rod bearings (along with timing gear, oil pump, and seals) while the engine is out of the car and easy to work on.

      Thanks for the info.

      Richard.
