euro wagon taillights 200

anyone seen them? fcp has them on ebay, but they seem a bit pricey at around $77 for one side. there is no orange lens; it is white instead. RED WHITE WHITE RED. it looks nice! I've been thinking about painting the orange lens to get that taillight color look that many of the new cars sport, the RED WHITE RED look. I got a bottle of testors transparent candy apple red #1605 long time ago just for this job, but I haven't the confidence and guts to undertake this job for fear of screwing up my taillights and the fact that I don't know the trick to removing the taillight unit yet. I gotta read up on more of this job description. but I really would like to do it on newer taillights because my wagon taillights are pretty scuffed, hence my browsing on ebay.

Volvo never made them, but they are available from time to time, from companies like www.bcb.no and the likes.

There is a company in Chicago called Swedish Car Parts (I drove past for years thinking it was "Swedish Carpets") that makes the red and clear lenses you describe for 700/900 wagons, and also the all clear lenses for 700/900 wagons and 244's. I'm not sure they make the 245 lenses you're looking for, though. FYI, they are made in Estonia, but the quality is quite good. They sell on eBay, their user name is "govnuk". I hope this helps.

I bought euro tails for my 245 from Swedish Car Parts about six months ago for $99 (pair). I had to wait a while to get them, but the quality and fitment is great, and I love the way they look. I put amber bulbs in the turn signal sockets for safety.

Search the archives, I have seen posts in the past where someone painted the amber lens with good results. I agree, the price for those Euro-lens is high, otherwise I would get them. Of note, I have seen European 245's and everyone had the same lens we do, RED/AMBER/WHITE/RED. Check them out on European Ebay...
Someone must be custom making the RED/WHITE/WHITE/RED.....BTW, the rear lens come out by removing the rear interior side panel, then two bolts and unplug light, slide light out. A second option is to go to salvage yard, get a pair of rear lights to practice on, probably $30.00 for the pair, there are always wagons at the yards I hit..
