Shopping for brake parts for the 740 (1989 NT) find two types listed, Girling and Bendix.

Is there any way, short of pulling the wheel, to determine which I have, e.g., serial numbers?

Any suggestions or comments on brands? The car is used 90% for around town driving, with the very occasional long trip. I'm going to do the pads and rotors.
