Why do Volvo folks like MG? Why Dont' We have the same aftermarket support?

I love MG's. I'm currently on the look out for one on the cheap, a sort of play thing, nothing fancy. I've noticed that many Volvo owners like MG as well. What's that about? I subscribe to every Moss motors and British Victoria catalog they have - just to look at the pictures and for general eduacation purposes when it comes time to buy my own MG. My question is how come Volvo, which made Millions MORE cars than MG (Leyland) doesn't have a great resource like British Vicotria. BV sells everything and I mean everything an MG needs to be on the road. I betya you could build an MG with their catalog if you only had a Bare block and a chassis frame. They even sell the proper screws, bolts and itty bitty washers and seals for everything on those little cars. In relative terms: If IPD were a convienience store (overpriced, small selection) then BV would be a Sams Club or Costco just in terms of inventory. Makes me almost hate Volvo aftermarket support here in the US. What gives!?

Why do Volvo folks like MG?
Fooled by Lucas Prince of Darkness, and a penchant for sticking with the same overbuilt outdated tractor technology.

Are you in CAlifornia? my friend has MGs all the time

Hey turbo greasel. No i'm in Florida. The trick for me is finding an MG junky enough that it wouldn't cost more than 1000 total but isn't exactly rusted completely through, know what I mean? Check out the my reply to you in the bio-diesel topic. How many MG's does your buddy have anyway? Does he like Volvo's too?

I worked in Mass for awhile, I know what you mean. My friend usualy has 2-4 Mgs and triumphs at any given time(mostly midgets). I think the tries to buy them in twos. He has had some Volvos he liked, but isn't a habitual buyer.

What gives is you haven't looked around.
I'd provide links, but there isn't room.

I understand you can get parts from Various places but not all in one place like British Victoria. Besides I have yet to see any one sell for example the little screws for the back of the speedo cluster or reproduction grills and rear seatbelt reel covers. How about performance headers, complete sunroof rebuild kits and all the litlle screws and nyloc stuff etc to go with it. Moss has these all in ther catalog. :( As for links they are usually dead from years ago. What's a good link you've come across?

When the manufacturer of a vehicle series no longer exists(I'll not expound on the reasons), supply resources, naturally, tend to collapse; OTOH, we can get parts for Volvos from a number of sources, which, obviously, tends to hold prices down.
Why would we want centralised, over priced, supply?
