vibrating steering column 900 1995

'95 960

lately, at speeds 75mph+, the steering column shakes badly. It's an up and down business. once it starts shaking... will continue until the car slows down to around 70mph. I suspect something is wrong with the steering, but not sure what. Shocks and springs seem okay.

could this be a bushing, balljoint? has anyone had a similar problem, or know where I should be looking first?

thanks very much!

thanks for the heads-up,
didn't think about the wheel balance. It's about time for a change of tires, i'll get the balance checked out.

thanks a bunch

try balacing the front tires, also could be an alignment issue

Just cured the same problem, new rear tires, car would start to shimmy at 80 or above on mine though.
Hope that helps
