new shoes all around S90-V90

Just picked up my car from our neighborhood indy shop. Needed new tires and rotors were warped. Put on Yoko Avid V4S's and he turned the rotors! I was a bit surprised, but as I recall you can get one turning out of them, if they're not too bad. It's a drop ship location for Tire Rack which makes it very convenient. I was in there for a check of the bushings and ball joints, all of which are OK.

Shatz...you made a good choice with the Avid V-4's. I have them on my Subary Outback and they are excellent tires. Had them on an Olds Aurora that I have a few years back and they were excellent on that big heavy car as well.

I plan to put them on my kids 94 944 when she needs tires in a few months.
I got them at Tirerack.com as well...drop shipped and it was a good deal for great tires.

This is good to know. After I ordered them based on the Tire Rack user evaluations and wear factor, I found a write-up in CR that rated their resistance to hydroplaning as poor and snow and ice traction as poor (not surprising). Not sure what ever to do with this completely contradictory data!

Simply my opinion but I've never found what Consumer Reports or 60 Minutes have stated has had any meaningful impact on my life. Simply put, I find them both irrelevant especially since the advent of the internet.
