changing trans fluid

Hi all,

Just a simple question but I've never done it before so I thought I would ask. I'm changing the trans fluid on my 1993 940-Should I change the screen too? Also, is there any benefit to getting synthetic trans fluid? Thanks.

    changing trans fluid

I just changed the fluid in my 93 945T. The trans has about 112k. I had previously changed the screen with a Purolator filter kit, but must admit that this step really was not necessary. I had the trans out of the car, so the job was easy. In the car, it is much more work.

I would use the flush method described in the FAQ, use synthetic fluid like Mobil 1. If you feel brave and want to cut some pipe, install a Magnefine filter. NAPA sells these inline filters, as does IPD.
