Got a 91 240 auto wagon. sometimes the little arrow on the dash stays on and the trans won't go into 4th/overdrive. the button on the shifter will also be inop. putting the trans in park and shuting off the key seems to reset. Is this a relay problem? other wise trans shifts fine and fluid level is ok.

    It could also be a shorting (white) wire coming off of the solenoid that goes to the OD relay. That had been my problem and just replacing the relay caused the replacment to go out too. Check the wiring down there first. Mine is an '86 and I would think has the same setup.
