It is a little broad to say none of them are good, however, I agree the ONLY way to go is a good used ECU. Rebuilders do have plenty of problems with ECUs and AMMs considering the outrageous price they charge. I am running a Programa rebuild in the wife's car (from pick and pull) and it is fine. I also have a Volvo rebuilt with a fancy sticker on it, works great. But a nice working 561, or better, a 951 (or even a 928 etc. from a 16 valve) is the way to go.

    NONE! 900

If you need one, get it an original Bosch unit from a car at the junkyard. A Programa ECU failed on our 89 240 after just 2 years. I replaced it with an ECU from a 91 740 and now it runs smoother than ever with better fuel economy. Plus the JY ECUs are in the region of $30-$40. Trust me, an old Volvo ECU is better than any new aftermarket ECU. And most LH 2.4 Jetronic ECUs are interchangeable.

That's likely true but for the fact that these ECUs fail as a result of oxygen intrusion into the silicone overlay on one drive circuit. That's a function of time and poor materials. So any junkyard ECU will be living on borrowed time as well. The real trick is how to rebuild them to ensure reliable operation over a 25-30 year lifetime. Imagine if 122s had the same problem: not one would be on the road today if only junkyard ECUs were available.

So we gotta find some good rebuilders.

By the way, some of the rebuilders are offering four year warranties.

Well the Programa ECU came with a 3 year warrenty. But when I contacted them they wanted $196 from me to invoke the warranty. Some warranty.
The 9XX part number ECUs have far fewer problems than the 5xx ECUs. At least as far as LH2.4 is concerned.
Anyway, thanks for the heads up. I'll keep on eye out for more 933 ECUs to keep as spares. When I find one I'll seal in a nitrogen bag. That should last me a few life times.
