My rear door is shut and the lock won't release. I've lowered the window and sprayed WD all over the mechanism, still stuck. It doesn't appear that I can get the panel off with out cutting it in two. Any suggestions?

I just had the same problem on my rear door. Here is what I did.

Roll the windows all the way down on both back doors. On the good side look through the window slot while working the lock. You will see the lever that works the door lock. Now go to the door that isn't unlocking and look in there and you will see the lever. I was able to stick a long screw driver down there and work the lever manually. it unlocked the door and was able to open the door and fix the linkage. Took me about 1 min to fix once I saw have the lock worked.

If you don't want to go the lock smith route, go to a self serve junkyard which has a 240 or two, and take that door panel off. Take some digital photos and sketches of the mechanism and study how a 'slim jim' could be used to unlock it.

I'm not that proud to admit it, but I've damaged more than one car in the PnP rehearsing the disassembly of something on my own cars. But then, I'm sure they build that into their pricing.

Good plan, I think I'll just take the other rear side panel off and view the works there as a template while I'm working on the stuck side.

It sounds like the linkage inside has come apart. I had this happen to me and couldn't see a way to get the panel off without damage either, though others may chime in and suggest otherwise.

Solution is to jimmy the door open, then take the panel off and re-connect linkage. Fortunately I carry AAA so I had a locksmith open it up for me then I immediatley took the panel off and fixed linkage later.
