1979 244 idles ruff when cold? 200

My brick runs ruff when first started from sitting for awhile. To keep is running I have to apply a little gas to keep it running. After about a minute or so it will run on its own. It idle s really well after driving it for awhile, but from a cold position it idles bad. Any suggestions, its an automatic.

    Hello,

    My 82 did the same thing. It turned out to be bad injector seals. To test, just spray some carb cleaner on the injectors while the car is at idle. If the motor stumbles when you hit it with the carb cleaner, the seal is leaking. They are not that hard to replace. Also check for vacuum leaks.
