Back seat removal of 240 wagon 200 1983

I have 2 240 wagons. One is a diesel standard and one is a turbo automatic. I am switching the interiors and want to know how to remove the upper part of the back seats. Any ideas?

The 'pin' that the seat hinges on is, I think, supposed to be spring loaded so that when you push that pin in towards the seat itself it releases from the catch on the body. I think there's a trick to it. I havn't managed this myself yet!

The other fasteners are pretty obvious looking at it.

Yep !! That'll do it. A bit tricky, but once you do it, you'll wonder what was so tricky about it !!

Enjoy

Yes, the pin is spring loaded, but if my memory is correct, you need to lever the pin out from the seatback by inserting a srewdriver blade between the pin's flange and the bracket. Twist the blade through 90 degrees at the same time lift that side of the seatback up out of the bracket. Then do the same on the other side. The pin doesn't need to move far just 1/4 inch or so.
