passenger vents blow hot air all the time 200

Hello:

1993 245
Hot air only comes out of the passenger side dash vent in the center of the dash and the far passenger side.

The A?C does cool it down, but you can tell hot air is mixing.

Question: Am I looking for electric or vacuum controls. Is the hot/cold slider not hooked up properly.

I would rather approach this from the glove compartment instead of pulling the center console.

has anyone had a similar problem?

Thanks

Something I neglected to mention.

The defroster on the passenger side hardly blows any air at all. The driver side works fine.

{Left Hand Drive}

Thanks

I recall this probem on an old late 70's 240 we once had. Tho we didn't have a/c on that car and in summer it really got unbearable!!!!

The problem lies in the water valve accessible thru the drivers side panel. Remove it and you'll see the copper water lines and valve. By simply adjusting the amount that the valve closes, will regulate the amount of hot water that gets into the heater core(in summer less is better).
Hope this helps!!!

Hot air from the heater core should mix equally left and right unless one side of the core is clogged, as one problem, combined with a second problem, a leaky heater control valve. The vacuum operated air doors just direct this flow. However the A?C evap could be icing on one side more than the other. Feel the heater hoses to eliminate a leaky heater control valve as a suspect. If not, you may need to attract a reply knowledgable in the R134a systems and flow through the new evaporator.

Would be easier than to fix a passenger who vents or blows hot air all the time.
