1990 760turbo no speedo ABS light on 700

I searched the archives and found some info on this but I would like to get more conclusive. Today the speedo stopped working and the ABS light came on while driving (65MPH). Turning the car off and restarting the light goes off, a very short drive with no speedo and the light comes back on. Car running and restarted, fron jacked up left wheel spin ABS ligh comes on within 10 seconds. Right wheel after 30+ seconds still no ABS light on. I'm thinking the wire or sensor on the right side is bad. Does the speedo read off of this sensor? Probably need to remove the whole sensor and wire to check continuity? I cleaned the crap off the sensors but not inside the "wheel well" around the sensor. This happened once before and the garage took like 5-6 hours to finally find it and fix it. Final visit was $114 to locate the break and splice it. Is it better just to bite the bullet and get a whole new sensor with wire?

Thanks
Don

the speedo signal for your car runs through the abs before it goes to the speedo head, so if you have no speedo signal that is probably your abs light on code. YOu may be right though about wiring, the wires coming from the sensor on the rear axle may be broken. i would unplug the harness and check from the sensor up to the connector on the right rear.the speedo wiring has a grey loom covering the wires, and the connector has a wire that must be removed to disconnect from the sensor. good luck.

Yep that was where it was. Looked at the sensor on the differential and had a wire hanging with an end free. I knew I shouldn't have let the cats borrow the wire cutters. ;-) Thanks
