Power window is Inoperable! 200 1990

I've got a 90 245DL with power windows. All window operate, except the passenger side rear. All the other windows operate at the specific door and at the driver's side main panel. The p/s rear doesn't operate at either location. I have opened the door and examined the wiring, it seems to be ok. I took the switch from the d/s rear(which was operational) and installed on the p/s rear. The p/s rear window still did not operate. Today, I disassembled the p/s rear switch, there was some corrosion. I cleaned thoroughly, reinstalled and window still does not operate. Any thoughts as to the cause?
Looking at the inside of the door, I saw 3 bolts that were holding the motor in the door. Are there any other hidden bolts or screws used to attach motor? The motor didn't drop out when I removed these 3 bolts.
One last item, can I swap the p/s front motor to the rear to test for faulty motor?
Thanks

Chances are good the motor is all that is dead. Sure you can swap stuff around to test this. But if the switch is good but the motor does not go, the motor is bad.

You have to disconnect the motor from the door and from the regulator. I would tape the window up, disconnect the regulator from the window, disconnect the regulator/motor from the door and pull the two out together. Swap the motor and put the two back in. Reconnect. Window should work again.

Hey, thanks for the quick response. Your confirming what I suspected. If the good switch won't operate the window, motor is bad. Thanks for tip regarding pulling it out. i think i'll check the prices at the local pick-n-pull.

one thing, because the master switch is in series to the door switch, the bad switch could be the one on the drivers master switch,. swap it first and see before you open the door.

Yeah, if the switch at the master and the switch at the door are not BOTH good, it will not work.

Power window is Inoperable! - FIXED!!!! 200 1990

You guys were right. i was resigned to replacing the motor, then i read the last two posts. I decided to clean all of the switches. Cleaned them and reinstalled, the window is now operable. Probably an hour total time and it was well worth it. As a bonus, I cleaned all the door panels, pulls, and speakers. Now the windows work and everything looks much better. Lesson learned was always check and cleean all switches. Thanks for the tips and now onto the next little project.
