yes,bear with me,new on site.horns suddenly quit working,before i buy new ones have question.i have 12 volts with key turned on at horns without depressing horn buttons,is that a no-no like i think it is and does anyone have an idea what i can look at. thanks

12v is a good thing.you should have 12v all the way to the steering wheel.the horn contacts in the wheel provide ground.i cleaned the contacts on mine and it started working most of the time.i do a lot of horn checks now.

Look for a loose ground screw just forward of turn signal lever on steering column.

On that late-model 240 with airbag, you probably need to disconnect the battery before pulling off the steering column cover(s). Something about untimely release of the airbag system. Big boom. And, disconnecting the battery will disable your radio if it's a Volvo original. You'll need the code # to make it work again!

Sorry, can't confirm or deny re. the voltage at horn.
