oil leaking out the exhaust 700

i noticed oil under the car, all over the back deck lid. its not blowing smoke, but it is very wet oil. Is this a sign of a bad turbo seal?

My car looked like that when I blew the rear housing seal & bushing on the Auto tranny... when u look close the oil has a reddish tint to it. however, may look brownish on the yellow paint background...

i wish it was that simple, my wife gave it some gas as i put my had close to the tailpipe, as soon as she reved it up, just a little bit, the oil shot on to my hand. Its definatley coming out of the exhaust.

Are you certain that's oil? Here's why I ask: any oil introduced into the exhaust system will come either from the combustion chamber or from the turbo. In either case the exhaust gas temperature will be high enough to burn it, hence the cloud of blue/grey smoke that'll obscure the cars behind you. So it seems nigh impossible that it's oil - there's no other entry point into the exhaust system other than where it'll be burned. However a byproduct of combustion is water, which will condense in your exhaust system & pick up particles of carbon. This is particularly pronounced with short trips. If the drains in your muffler/resonator are plugged, or if there aren't any drains, those short trips will cause moisture to accumulate without generating enough heat to evaporate it. So enough water sits there, mixing with carbon in the exhaust, till one starts the car & the black, soot-filled water gets blown out with the exhaust before it gets hot enough to vaporize.

that is truely possible., i did just start it up. the only problem with that is there was very little oil in the oil pan. that doesnt explain where it went. it has never burned oil like that before.

No, it's a sign of an external oil leak; the sign of bad turbo seals is a cloud of greyish smoke following you.
A common leak point is the oil separator box under the intake manifold; others are the front seals and the distributor.

You have blown turbo seals, and or stuck exhaust valve(s)
        with blow by.
        Sorry !

i crawled under the car to find the rear main out of place, the leak has been found. may have been the carbon coming out of the exhaust.i cant wait till i get my new 2.5" pipes.

            You gave us wrong clues.
If the rear main seal was out of place
you would have a major leak under the car,
possibly going up around the trunk area.
You said the oil was coming out of exhaust pipe ?!!!

              update 700 1978

sorry, didnt mean to throw you off, it was leaking both areas. i might have been wrong about the oil in the exhaust, something dark and wet cam out when i reved it up. may have been condensation and carbon. Im sorry if i mis led anyone, i was very upset when i saw the oil on the driveway and none in the pan.
