adding carbs to a b21f 200 1982

I did a search but wasnt able to come up with any thing. I hope im not the first person to think of this because than i would feel pretty stupid. I have two questions can the volvo carbs handle a turbo air demnands and is it posible to add teh carbs to an american 240 other than the intake manifold and the actul carb what would be diffrent. I think i need some canadian input on this since i have never even seen this set up. so im looking for input pictures and if any one else has ever attempted or ackumlished this. this isnt like a high priority just something i was thinking about
thanks
chuck

As for adding turbo to the carb'ed engines, Volvo did offer a turbo kit to their B19A and B21A engines. There is a great Finnish Volvo site with scans of the original brochure (click on the images for enlarged pics):

Observe that the kit came with a dedicated turbo carburettor.

Here is a manual for adjustment and fault finding (English text):

Here is a picture of a B21AT engine bay (IC added):

    Good luck with your project!

    Hey Chuck,
I have a complete carb set up that I took off of a Canadian 240 that I took in trade before I junked it out. I had the same idea, but have not had a need for it so if you would like the intake, carb, hoses etc. contact me and make me an offer. I am in Colorado.

I think StreetDreams asked a similar question some time back.

Carb setup appears pretty simple (I'm no expert). It's getting that manifold and carb that would be the problem.

Rhys Kent of IslandAutomation (sucarburetors.com) seems to be quite knowledgeable/familiar with 240 engines (carbed and FI) and may be able to set you up.
