HELP! Car won't start... Security? 900 1997

Hi all - Have a bit of a problem. My 960 won't start and the hazard lights are flashing. Has the security system been triggered? The car was parked in my garage. My wife drove it fine this morning, but this afternoon she went out, turned the key, and nothing. No turning over, clicking or anything. The hazard lights are not turned on, but are flashing. Must be something electrical. Any ideas? Check engine light came on in the last couple days, related? I am at work, so can do no diagnosis from here.

Try locking then unlocking the driverside door, then try to start it.

That did the trick!! Does that mean my wife somehow triggered the security system? If so, why was there no alarm "sound"? In any case, thanks. I thought I was looking at a tow!

When it happened to my wife she entered from the passenger side and and did something, either started the car from that side or locked the car from that side. Had the same symptoms. Now my wife isn't allowed to drive the 960 anymore!!!!

Apparently my wife had some trouble getting the key in the ignition (this was only like the 2nd time she was driving it). She thought it was *upside-down*. Since that's not possible, I'm guessing she had it misaligned somehow and that must have caused the problem. Thanks again. At least now we know.
