Time for Muffler Change: Sport or Stock? 120-130

I bought my 122 in November and now that the snowy winter is past, it is time to start working on it.

One of the first items of business is a exhaust system re-do. The tail pipe is rusting away and the muffler doesn't sound right.

A couple of questions:
1) Sport or stock? I have noticed both sold on EBAY. What are advantages of going 1-inch or 2-inch? Are these Scandix systems on EBAY reliable?
2) Weber or SU. I have a Weber on the car now but I am considering going to the dual carbs. Should I make that decision first before the exhaust?

I really appreciate this helpful community. As I learn by doing, I hopefully will be able to offer more advice in return.

Read my product report on the Skandix (Simons) Sport exhaust. They do sell a pre-66 version of the exhaust for the single down pipe equipped cars (I agree with Phil though, upgrade to the the dual outlet exhaust). I've bought a lot of the exhausts over the years and the Simons product is right at the top of the quality heap.

If you plan on a heavily modified motor though, or want a stainless system, talk to John Parker. I seriously doubt that a better system is available for serious performance use?

The Scandix thing looks like a real bargain to me, from what others have reported about it. However, I believe it's only for the dual outlet exhaust manifolds, which were first used on the 122S sometime in '66.

If (if!) the Weber downdraft is set up right, it can be a very reliable and economical carb. Dual SUs support more power than the Weber if your motor can make more power. I prefer the SUs, but I wouldn't be in a hurry to change something if it's working well now (if!).

Of course, the dual outlet exhaust manifold for B18 is one unified piece with the intake manifold that takes dual SUs, so it might well make sense to do both conversions at once.
