B21A Zenith-Stromberg Carburetor Vacuum Question 200 1981

I have 16" vacuum. I thought I should have more. What should I expect? Valve Clearances have been adjusted. I only have 151,000 kilometers on my 1981 244DL, with a B21A engine. Is it likely the Rings are already giving the engine problems?

B21A Zenith-Stromberg Carburetor Vacuum Question 200 1981

That's about normal for a four cylinder engine. In the old days V-8's with mild cams saw about 19-21 inches.

B21A Zenith-Stromberg Carburetor Vacuum Question 200 1981

My B21A also and the vacuum sits at a steady 16 as well. Depending on your elevaton above sea level it may be lower than the book suggests. If the vacuum is steady with no fluctuations the engine is likely fine.
