Power Steering/AC 200

Bricky's, anyone have any issues removing the AC unit below the power steering unit...installing belt pulley conversion kit...and having the bracket with the P.S.U. shake profusely? It seems that once I have the PS belt to the correct tension, the bracket the PSU is mounted on seems to have no rigidity once the AC unit was removed. Machine shop? Fabricate support bracket? Anyone know?

I got about that far with the A/C compressor removal and then just decided to remove the P/S as well. I had originally cut pieces of steel tubing to go between the plates on the bracket and I was going to use some long bolts to go through the outboard plate, through the tube, and through the inboard plate to stiffen it up. Alternately, you could gut the A/C compressor and just use the aluminum case mounted to stiffen the bracket.

As I said, I never got so far as to mount the thing up, but I was a bit dissapointed to see that the issue had not been addressed in the kit that I purchased.

Yeah, I'd put the AC compressor housing back on but I removed it because all the bolts were broke off inside. Right now...I'm thinking I might try a chunk of a ski pole with the ends flattened out...but who knows. I don't hate it that much driving without the power steering...so...but thanks much on the feedback.
