Sources for Windshields? 120-130

The soon-to-be-mine, 1967 122S Wagon has a windshield cracked in two places. Following the article over at VClassics, I checked out Genuine Classic Parts for a replacement. I found it, but it came up at well over $200.00 (likely due to the very weak dollar). To me, that's really expensive, unless a dealer can order it with a nice discount.

Aside from a junkyard (we have almost no 122s around st. louis), does anyone know have suggestions for other sources?

Your local Volvo dealership can get you a front windshield (if you are a VCOA member you may also get a 10% discount). I just bought one ($170 here in PA, and they had it for me in 3 days), and put it in myself w/new rubber, and redid the back window, too (same glass, new rubber)--not hard but messy. Fortunately, the bedding compound cleans up easily with solvent.

Cheers!

bought one from volvo dealership a few years back, $150.00 CDN or something, go ask. I think they were using an old price list. BTW I buy glass for other applications quite often, and $200 for a tempered piece that size is pretty reasonable.

Try www.locanglass.com. They are in Somerville, MA, but are used to shipping all over the world. Incredible inventory. I bought a couple of tinted PV windshields from them the summer before last and paid $160 a piece. Definitely get new seals(VP Autoparts or any of the other usual outfits) and prep the frame.

GCP is quoting $240 USD (less shipping) for the clear and most local sources including the local dealers are somewhat higher. My 2 dr's PO got one of the last available green tinted ones and it was $600 including installation. Local mobile glass installers are quoting $450 for a clear one, installed, minus the seal. This is in Northern California. YMMV!!

Personally, at those prices, I would never attempt to remove a good windshield with the seal intact... cut the seal and use a new one.

Don't break your rear glass! I haven't found a source for those at all... yet!

When I find good ones in a salvage yard, I buy it if it is not too pricey (more than $100)!

A major glass installer quoted me $250.00 installed (online), so maybe I'll just go that route. Sounds like a deal compared with California. 'Course I'm worried about the rust that's hiding under that seal... Regardless, I better pull the old window myself and prep the opening.

AFAIK, it's a GCP windshield or nothing. Do check with your dealership and see what their price is.

I'm also looking for a replacement windscreen.

Are the windshields for the wagon, 4-door, and 2-door interchangeable or are they unique to each model?

They're the same for all models.
