Stiff (new) steering rack 900 1996

just installed a remann Atlantic enterprise rack from fcp, and did an alignment. the steering was stiff before the align and, although less, still stiff after the alignment.

is this normal for a remann?

    additionally i've noticed that it'll shudder occasionally when turning at low speeds, i know this came up before with others here on brickboard as 'cold bubbles'.

    i checked faqs, and could only find a suggestion to adjust the pump spring.

    is this something to worry about, or do i need to let it settle?
