Speedometer not working...HELP 200 1978

My speedo is not working. I know about changing the gears to fix it but the one that came off of my cluster is a 20 or so tooth one while the replacement ones are like 15 or 16 teeth. Any info on getting a 20 tooth one or if I can use a 15 or 16 tooth gear. Thank you very much for any help.

    Is the gear split, so that it isn't gripping the shaft? Or is it broken in 2 or has worn teeth? If the former, remove, try using some epoxy glue, eg JB weld, clamp it lightly and see it can be reused.

    I think you mean to say the odometer is not working? If the Speedometer is not working, that gear is not going to fix it.
