Update on no fuel 140-160

Hello all. I have been working diligently on my new 144. I now have a pulse to the injectors. But the injectors are clogged up gummed up. My question is can i take these apart and clean them. I definatly dont wont to buy 4 injectors. I have found the ohms resistance and I will check that today and post. Any advice thanks in advance.

Thanks Eric

    Update on no fuel 140-160

Thanks guys. Ok I checked the injetors ohms. My book which is a Chilton said the ohms should be 2.4. All the injectors checked out at 2.5-2.6 which should be ok. I took them off again and soaked them in mineral spirits and some top engine cleaner (Castle was the brand not as good as BG products but all I had)
I then took air pressure and blew back and forth from top to bottom. It worked, I finally heard the B20 run for more than 3 seconds. Sounds nice except for the massive exhaust leak. LOL. I found some more injectors for 15 to 20 dollars (used). But I dont wont to buy used injectors and be back in the same boat that I am in now. The cheapest I have found new ones are 90 dollars on IPD. If cruisinperformance can recondition these injectors I will buy the used ones and send off. I will let you all know if they can.

    Thanks Eric

I was wondering if that might be your problem from the get go... Youc an try to clean 'em up with solvents, and it might help. But I have seen them just not get clean enough to work again.

I'd be looking for some new injectors... its a good thing to have around anyhow. Keep an eye on ebay. They show up from time to time used. If you do go with used ones, but sure to ask the seller how long its been since they were running.

Often the pintles just get stuck shut and the windings can't pop them loose, and with no flow going through cleaner won't help. What you need to do is gently push in the pin at the bottom of the injector with something small. It doesn't push far, and you don't want to push too hard (bend or distort it and it's junk, probably). As soon as it pops loose then run some gas through it.

If I let my 1800 sit around without running for a couple of months a couple of injectors will stick, a couple of minutes popping the fuel rail off (just uncrew the holders and pull it back, all wires and hoses attached), pushing them in, and replacing and it runs perfectly.
