Stalling and OBD question 900 1995

Good morning. The car is a 1995 945FT. Last night, after an abrupt stop at an intersection, our car stalled. It started right up again and we drove home. But, when we got there, I tried to start it right up again just to check, and it had a hard time getting started again. Took several protracted cranks. So, I went out this morning and checked a couple of things. It started right up, but I found following:

1. Charging system looks OK for voltages at alternator and battery, although I did get a 0.7V drops across both the block and alternator housing and the negative battery terminal. Anything to worry about? Check battery ground?

2. On the OBD, I got 1-1-1 at both sockets 2 and 6. But, it wouldn't go through the erase memory sequence in position 2 and the TPS and speed sensor checks in position 6 as described in FAQs. No response for those. Does this mean that something is wrong with the OBD or all OK? Seemed a bit odd to me so thought I should ask.

Thanks for any feedback.

Stalling and OBD question 900 1995

Can't help you with the OBD issue, but it sounds like you've got either a fuel pump relay, or a crank sensor that is just about to fail.

Replace both parts. The relay you can do easily. The sensor you probably want a shop to do unless you want to fish around underneath your distributor (behind the head in any case).

Thanks for the help. I had a suspicion about the speed/crank/rpm sensor and hoped that the OBD would point to it. I've done both replacements on our '90 745. When the sensor failed on that car, it caused the car to stall while moving in traffic after about 10 or so miles of driving, then need about 10 minutes of stand time before it would start up again. I'll go ahead and price out those parts as a precaution.
