Hi all,
I have a 90 245 that I recently bought. The driver side door mirror has started to vibrate when I go above 20 mph. Passenger side is fine. Is there some way to open it up and tighten something inside, or is this a replacement issue. It is a manually adjusted mirror. I am hoping a broken spring or loose screw. Any thoughts are appreciated.

I have had two mirrors come unglued. The trick is to wait until they are about ready to fall off so you don't pull off any silver when you pull it off, but before the mirror falls on the ground and shatters.

Glueing it back on is the easy part.

My 90' 244 was having vibration problems with the mirror also. I thought it was some internal problem, until I touched the mirror itself. It had loosened from the backing. The mirrors are just glued onto a panel. I actually used high temp silicon as glue as I was out in the middle of nowhere and it was falling off. No problems for a year. Check this before ripping your door panels off.

Thanks for the info. It is in fact just the mirror that shakes and not housing. I'll wait and monitor it to see if I can get it when it is loose enough, but hasn't fallen off yet. I would prefer not going into the door again if i don't have to. I have gone into several doors already to fix windows and door handles on this wagon.

Is it just mirror itself that is shaky or is it the entire assembly that is shaky ? If entire assembly you may have to tighten up bolts that hold it to door. Take off door side panel. Gently pry off inside part of assembly. Within are 2 (maybe 3 I forget) Bolts That you can try tightening up. By the way entire assembly should only be about $10 at a junkyard. Also note drivers side & passenger side are different and not interchangeable. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

I too, have a 1990 240 and I have the exact same
problem with the driver's side mirror. Mine doesn't
start shaking until 60MPH though...
