UNIDENTIFIED CONNECTIONS UNDER HOOD...HELP 140-160

Hello Board, please bear with me on these few posts. I have a few unidentified hoses and connections under my hood that I am having trouble identifying them and I could use your help. This one shows the venting filter on the left side of the car, kind of underneath the air filter. I cannot figure out where the small hose connects to and there are two holes on top of the filter. Is there something missing here? Would this make the car run a little rough? Thanks for your help.

UNIDENTIFIED CONNECTIONS UNDER HOOD...HELP 140-160

I'm not at all familiar with 164s, but if the gizmo in your first picture were in a FI 140, and it were a fuel vapor trap, there would be two hoses coming out of it. One would go into the intake manifold at the forward end just below the throtle position sensor, and the other would go back to fuel tank, or its venting system. The thing you show, however, appears to have a T connection on top with some sort of valve in one arm, to which a hose is connected. So it could be that the T does the job that the two separate hoses in the 140s do. In which case the second holecould just be a vent -- the cannister in my "71 142 is open at the bottom, with a filter in it.

Hi Chris, I am somewhat of an amatuer photographer and with these wonderful digital cameras, it makes things that much easier. For these, I used a Sony Mavica and used the macro setting with a flash. You can hold the camera up to 1" away from something. I host all my pictures at www.photobucket.com - it is a free hosting site and they give you the url link to your picture after you load them so all you have to do is copy the address and paste it in the "image url" line below.

Next problem..the previous owner plugged these two hoses with a screw! Are there supposed to be connect to each other? What are these for? The previous picture shows the location of these hoses.

On top of the idle adjustment screw, there are two connectors. Both connections are missing. I found one loose connector wrapped around the injector line (see picture) and I am assuming it connects to one of these. Which one? And where is the other one from and where does it connect to?

That solenoid there brings your idle up a tad when you switch on the a/c.

Sort of like a mini AAV

If your a/c is gone or not working, ignore.

A/C idle kick-up valve. 140-160

I'm not really sure what year or intake that is, but in this picture the electrical device is an idle kick-up valve that increase the idle when the A/C is turned on.

Last but not least...what is this for? I cannot locate where this connects and I see no loose connectors anywhere. What is this for? The black cylinder holds a fuse.

Sorry for the lengthy posts and the big pictures. Any help is appreciated. I just had $3000 of maintenance done on this vehicle and the mechanic seems to have missed these :-(
