I saw a head on ebay at a fairly high price for marine use.
Looks very clean. The top edge of the head between the manifold surface
and the top is complete, no curved depressions. Does that mean it is the
8-bolt engine style ports that are supposed to be the best for performance?
Would this head also have the big valves like FI heads? No injector ports
on this one but bosses where they would be. You can see several views of it at:

It is a late F casting according to wht I know - the center bolt head connected on both sides. That sort of looks like my odd head (mine was ported, big valved, and double valve sprung) - the late model casting without the injector ports drilled.

I can't tell with the little pictures, but is the head entirely normal where the water pump attaches? Do Penta motors have water pumps in the normal location - I've seen some sort of coolant pump that attached to the front of the timing cover.

The ones that operate in salt water have a water/seawater heat exchanger so
the other one is the seawater pump. Yes they do have the standard water pump
in the same location, generally without the fan.

It just looked a little odd in those pictures - like that end of the head wasn't flush with the block mounting surface.

the pump on the timing cover is for raw water. aq130 use the same water pump for coolant that b20's do. the pentas use a heat exchanger (water to water radiator) thats what the other pump is for..

looks like a late f head to me .
