Sound familiar? Now they don't just try to sell you non-existant cars, now they try to buy yours. Notice the degradation of this dude's grammar.

If this fool actually read these forums, he'd know I was on to him, yet he continues to pursue me:
-------------------------------------------------------------
Hello Nathan,
Thanks for your reply, i mean this client of mine
will issue you a certified cashier check of
($5,500)base on my debt with him and he promised to
pay up. is like a foreign check take longer 3month to
clear in my country that why and he also enssure me
the cashier check will take 3-4 days to cleared in you
account, not 15day.
Once the check cleared you are to deduct your money
for the (ettore sottsass memphis mirror diva)and have
the remaining funds send via western union to my
shipping agent for them to commence shipment at your
location...
However, let me know if you are okay with this and
do get back to me with your full details, so i can
forward it to my client for him to issue out the check
in your name.....
I will be counting on you soon..
Regards,
Boyd Hector.........

So, I've decided to have some fun with this guy. He's wasting my time, I'm going to waste his time. Notice the precipitous decline in my grammar and spelling:
-------
Boyd, that sounds more legitimate. Perhaps we broker a deal after all. Because of difficulties and complications this likely to cause me, the sale price for my car has increased to 2,000.00 Euros. If this is still fine with you then we can go ahead with sale. I hope hear from you soon, please accept my big appology for have doubt of you. God bless, Nathan

Too bad, e-mal doesn't convey sarcasm very well.

I've read many warnings about car-finders, but this is my first experience with a fake buyer. I'm wondering if any of the other sellers have had similar experiences. Once I responded that I though he was a nigeria scammer, his prompt e-mails suddenly stopped. I also demanded that if he were legitimate, we would complete the transaction via paypal.
No word yet. None expected.
This world has a lot of jerks in it... The time I wasted writing a detailed description of the car was time I could have spent on something important.

I think a really good policy is to never sell a car sight unseen. That is,
if the person himself can't come and get the car, he can't have it.
Also waiting for the check to clear is a good deal in any transaction.
(although it is getting harder and harder to get a bank to tell you that
a check has indeed cleared and to guarantee that they will not come back
after the money. Lately they have told me that "after 5 days you can
ASSUME it is OK......". )
You know the drill: "Assume" makes an ASS out of U & ME.

My sister got tangled up in a cheque fraud scam where her bank ended up reversing cheques which were deposited to her account 4-6 months earlier. The issuing bank cleared the cheques and the money was released, then the account holder realized something was amiss, and who ended up on the hook? My sister, who had deposited the cheques, waited for them to clear, and had to pursue a civil suit against the fraud artist to recover the money that her bank held HER accountable for. Beware indeed - it took filing proceedings against the banks involved, alleging violation of Canadian cheque-clearing regulations by them, to clear her Equifax (credit) report.
Beware indeed!
I won't accept a cheque from anyone I don't know, and I do not expect anyone to accept my cheques unless we've established a rapport already. Money orders or Paypal it is...

Well, it's not a new scam persay - it's been going on for a while. Still, emails are cheap, and if they managed to sucker someone, it was worth their time.
