Steering coupling: new or used; used part source? 200 1986

I need to replace the lower coupling on my '86 244. Is this something OK to get used or is the recommendation to get new ($110 from FCPGroton). If used, good used part sources in the South-Southwest? (less rust)

Try a google on Hirsch Industries (Phoenix AZ).

I've bought a 140 gas tank (like new inside) and 240 P-brake cables from there.

Hello,

Have you tried soaking the old one in PB Blaster followed up with some engine/tranny oil for permanent lubrication?

If that doesn't get it loose, then FCP is you best bet.

It's not so much seized as worn - loose.
