Some time ago, I replace my aw71 and then I heard an strange whistle when I drive, this happen when I left the pedal out and the whistle start(at 1500 or more), does any body knows what is this?

Started after replacing tranny ??!! Check all air (ntake) hoses. Had same whislte on my 84- 245t. Reseated and snugged air hose conectors. In reseating, I loosened connectors, twisted (1/8 turn) air hoses back and forth a few tmes, snugged connectors. One other time I found a pin hole in the air hose......put a dab of silicone on the culprit, no more whistle.

Question: When you fix this whilstle, how is the performance, same or will increase. I make this question, because I feel after the tranny swap I loose some HP. What do you think?

You're welcome. You may regain what you lost, then again it may be the (hate to think) tranny. I'd go for the air leak.

Sounds like the turbo. My 82 245T makes a very noticeable
turbo whine. Does it come and go when you step on the accelerator?
Any time our car is making a small amount of boost, just into the yellow on the boost gauge, you can hear the turbo singing. Under hard throttle, as boost goes higher, I can no longer hear the turbo. My wife has better ears than I do but it soon goes beyond what she can hear as well.
