Brake servo, dumb ? 140-160 1975

I feel like a dummy, guys. When I finally get to the pick&pull to lift seats from a 240, should I also pick up a vacuum brake servo? That large canister between the master cyl and the firewall. If I find one that is 6" deep, will it work? Or should I have mine rebuilt? Seems that brake fluid was pumped into it from a bad MC. The dealer here says that he has no replacement part for a 1975 164.

I am not sure where you are but over here in Portland, Or. There is A guy nick named "booster Dewey" who can rebuild any brake booster. I could probably dig up his number if you want it. I believe mine was about $50. Better than the rebuild price!

$50 + postage from MN, not bad. I will ask my garage about locals and if that doesn't pan out, I will let you know.

    Hi,
You can get a reman. one from www.rockauto.com (I think thats the page). The part # is 535901 it is about $182.00 + $50.oo core. It might be cheaper and easier to get yours rebuilt, ask around at local parts stores.
I have one that I believe will fit, but have no idea if it is in good shape or not.
    Chris

Thanks. I'll ask my local garage guy if he knows someone in the TC area.
