I had posted a message about clunking touring shocks. I replaced them with some new ones these were made in Germany and not Romania as were the first ones. Since installing no more noises from them. IMO use them if they are made in Germany.

As well as being internal to the shock, clunking can also result from too much play in a mount.

I'll see what FCP Groton says- I've had clunking ever since installing the rears. I'm going over there today. Perhaps they'll honor some kind of warranty even though I've had them 6 months. I've had the clunks since day one but just kind of accepted it.

Nick took mine back after 10 or 11 months and replaced with Sachs. But I had called sooner to complain. Waited till Spring to make the swap.

I don't know where mine were made, but it took several months before the clunking started. This was about 1 1/2 years ago.
