Flex Disc Info 700

The rubber donut "Flex Disc" on my '89 5 spd turbo output shaft has alot of small cracks and I'm thinking about replacement. FCP Groton sells one for $35 which is way below prices at other parts sites ($60+) and my local indy supplier ($100+). Has anyone used one from Groton and if so how's it doing? It's a rather critical driveline part and I don't want to install one that's going to be coming apart anytime soon.

Manual Transmission Driveshaft Flex Disc Info (M46 and M47) 700

In July of 2004, I replaced the exact same flex disc on a friends '87 240 wagon with M47. My local dealer listed the part for $137 and FCP was only $35. They shipped me a Febi part, which was indeed an OEM unit and it looked and felt identical to the one I removed from the vehicle. As long as either the box or the part says Febi or has their logo on it, I'd be confident that it's the OEM part. (FYI, Bilstein is a subsidiary of Febi)

When you reinstall the flex disc, make sure that you use the little arrows cast into the side of the disc to properly align it with the output shaft. Each arrow should point to an ear of the mating plate, both front and back (output shaft and drive shaft).

God bless,
Fitz Fitzgerald.

Flex Disc Info 700

The FCP website shows this flexdisc to be a Febi brand, which some posters say is OEM, and therefore a good buy.

I'd try a new, post, with Febi Flex Disc in the subject line. I think a more specific subject, may get more responses.
