Fabricating own turbo hose 700

I once saw a post where someone made their own AMM to turbo hose. I think it was SS with silicone ends.

After scouring the archives I can't find it.

Hi

You may have seen these pics

Here is a link from turbobricks message board on the intake hose
http://www.forums.turbobricks.com/showthread.php?t=25725

This is 3 inch ss tube blended into 2.5 inch tube with the appropriate size silicon tube on each end. If I did it again I would use 2 3 inch SS bends and have a 3 inch to 2.5 inch silicon reducer on the turbo end

I also did with my father help a cat back 3inch ss exhaust see link

George;

Yes, this is the picture I saw. Thanks...nice work.

Once I considered the angles involved and the welding needed, I thought the $65 USD started to sound pretty good.

Love that picture... 700

but a bad sense of priority; note the seeping coolant. There's gonna be a high performance disaster...
Are metal hoses supposed to increase horseposer?

Probably the main reason folks do it is to have it replaced once and never have to worry about again. That's my reason.

Anyway I look at it, I'll have to spend $100 to buy an aftermarket hose so I did some investigation into making my own.

Results? Spend the money to buy the hose unless you have access to steel tubing and you can weld.
